How to warm the ceiling and the loggia of a private house

Why do we need ceiling insulation

ThermometerToday there is a large selection of thermal insulation that meets the requirements of safety and effective reduction of heat loss. Universal materials allow you to use them in any type of overlap from inside and outside the room, walls, floors, to warm the loggia, attic, balcony. Thanks to the well-thought-out dimensions and accessories, installation is available even to a non-professional.

The task of warming a private house is sealing and reducing heat loss in the cold season.
On how well the insulation of walls, ceilings, window and doorways will be performed, the climate inside the room depends. Thermal insulation of floors and roofs is a strategically important step in order to keep the house warm and cozy.

Warming the ceiling in a private house is simply necessary if:

  • in winter it is cool in the rooms, although the heating system is working at full capacity;
  • frost in the upper corners and on the ceiling;
  • indoors high humidity, fungus, mold;
  • home heating requires large financial costs;
  • indoors there is a sharp temperature difference at the top and bottom.

Misted windowsCirculation of air in the room is as follows: rising up, warm air reaches the top point, where it cools again and goes down. If the ceiling is thin, has cracks, cracks (for example, at a wooden ceiling), the warm air freely comes out, giving way to cold. The air in the room does not have time to heat up - it is cool in the house, and feet on the floor are cold.

With non-insulated ceilings, the formation of steam in the roof is observed due to sudden temperature changes.
Water suspension contributes to the destruction of wooden and metal elements of the roof, ceiling, which reduces their service life. Therefore, along with the thermal insulation of the ceiling should be made vapor barrier.

Device warm ceiling

HeaterWhen insulating the ceiling from the inside take into account several factors:

  • room height - insulation can take from 15 to 50 cm;
  • type of insulation material;
  • the presence of vapor barrier;
  • communications and wiring;
  • ceiling decoration and fixture fixtures.

Low ceilings of a private house do not allow arranging insulation from the inside, so you should provide heat and vapor insulation in the under-roof space (in the attic, attic). It is important to carry out all work thoroughly, using skilled labor for highly specialized work (wiring, communication). If installation of suspended ceilings is in the plans, it should be taken into account that the level of overlap will drop by another 7-15 cm.

The arrangement of luminaires in suspended or stretch ceilings when insulating from inside the room is undesirable.
Built-in lights, even with energy-saving lamps, are heated. Thermal insulation of the mineral ceiling does not contribute to the natural cooling of the light bulbs - this leads to their quick breakdown and additional costs.

Do not arrange the wiring directly in the mass of insulation or near it. Wires should be securely fastened and closed with a special plastic box.

Warming from the inside - what and how?

Ceiling insulation technologyWarming the ceiling from the inside is convenient because it can be done year-round.In order to insulate the ceiling, you need to consider the lighting system, frame, type of insulating material, vapor barrier. The hands can do the work in a couple of days, having the necessary building materials. More details on how to insulate the ceiling of a private house from the inside can be viewed on the video.

To insulate the ceiling with your own hands, you need materials:

  • insulation material (mineral wool, ISOVER type materials) - the thickness of the web is from 10 to 50 cm;
  • metal or wood guides - they make a frame for a suspended ceiling or directly for insulation;
  • fasteners (screws, nails, etc.);
  • tool (screwdriver, Bulgarian, etc.);
  • vapor barrier film;
  • glue.

Laying mineral woolThe sequence of works on warming the ceiling of mineral wool is as follows:

  1. We make markings on the ceiling where the guides will be installed (frame) - the space along the width should be 4-5 cm less than the width of the insulation in the roll.
  2. Apply glue between guides. You can use glue for tile.
  3. We put a heater, not crushing it. Roll out the roll between the guides, gently fill the edges with your hands. Do not crush and extrude the material, since the air cavities inside are a reliable barrier to the cold.
  4. We carry out the finishing of the ceiling with sheets of drywall or fiberboard.

Ceiling decoration from the attic

Attic insulationTo warm the ceiling from the side of the roofing space in a private house is easier than from the inside. This method has the advantages:

  • can be carried out at any height of the room;
  • more economical than to insulate from the inside - no need to make a frame;
  • an expanded range of insulation materials (foam, expanded polystyrene, mineral wool, other types of insulation);
  • You can make multi-layer insulation.

The technology of work is reduced to the laying of insulating materials on the surface of the ceiling. When insulating foam with a top coating of chipboard, the joints of the plates are closed with mounting foam and insulating tape. When multilayer warming mineral wool correctly lay the material in a brickwork, that is, each subsequent layer must be applied to the joints of the previous (see video).

If the owner plans the attic or attic device is often used, you should warm the floor with foam plastic with an external hard surface. In order to walk through the insulation, you need to make reinforcement and concrete screed. Otherwise, the material will quickly collapse.

Loggia insulation

Loggia insulationTo learn how to insulate the loggia with your own hands, you can watch the training video. Here materials of smaller thickness are used due to the limited size of the loggia. You should also provide steam and moisture insulation (glassine).

How to insulate the loggia with your own hands:

  1. We close the walls with glassbag, close the joints with insulating tape.
  2. From above we do a framework, we fill space with polyfoam, mineral wool, etc.
  3. Close the loggia paroizoliruyuschey film.
  4. We carry out finishing (wood, PVC, sandwich panels, etc.). For improved performance it is possible to install heated floors with electric heating on the loggia.

Warming the house with their own hands does not require deep knowledge and skills, available to anyone who knows how to hold a hammer and nails in their hands. Adhering to the advice of professionals (see video), you can create a cozy atmosphere and a healthy microclimate in your home.
